2022 reflections from RCREW (and a special announcement!)

Happy Holidays!

What a year it has been, not just for us, but for the queer communities around the world. As we're approaching the festive season, we wanted to take a step back and talk about some of the highlights as well as a very exciting announcement.

It has been a wonderful last year for our little business. It's amazing to think about how far we have come, and how much we have grown in a short amount of time. Making the move from our Etsy shop to become an independent online retailer was a big step for us, but we have not regretted in the slightest. It was a scary decision, but we have plenty to thank for our successes in 2022.

One of those we wanted to thank is the Watford Workshop. One of the many highlights for our business was choosing to collaborate with the Watford Workshop who have proven to be an integral part of our growth and values. We joined forces with the organisation back in November 2021, hiring the wonderful team to hand-make and manufacture our signalling bracelets. As an organisation, they hire and train people with disabilities with skill sets relevant to their work interests. All workers are paid living wages, and for every bracelet sold, a portion of the profit goes towards Watford Workshop's mission. The Watford Workshop has been a big to help to us in many ways, and we are eternally grateful for our partnership.

As we look into 2023, we are excited to continue our relationship and supporting the workers and organisation.

We are also excited to continue working with other LGBTQIA+ creators and influencers, something we have started to do in 2022 and will hopefully form new relationships in the next year.

Speaking of the new year, we have an exciting announcement to make…

RCREW is going to Dragcon UK 2023!

Calling all Queens, Kings and Royalties – RCREW is going to be at Rupaul’s Dragcon UK!

Yes, that’s right – we're going to be selling our pride bracelets at Dragcon on January 6-8 2023, at the Excel in London.

As many of you know, Drag is one of the most entertaining and liberating acts within the LGBTQ+ community. Culturally, Rupaul's Drag Race has changed the game for Drag artists in so many ways, bringing a huge piece of our queer celebrations to mainstream. To be a small part of the movement means so much to us as a small business, and we can't wait to see you (and a queen or two) in January.

If you haven't bought your tickets to Dragcon UK 2023, you can do so here. If you're attending the event – come by and say hi to us at our booth! (D127)

We're ecstatic about what the new year is going to bring for us and hope you will be there along with us. On behalf of the RCREW team, we wanted to personally thank every signle of you who has purchased one of our products, and for supporting a small LGBTQ+ owned business.

Happy Holidays and have an amazing 2023!

With Love,

The RCREW Team
